The Carpenter Creative Corridor (CCC) is a decentralized community art school along the north Hamtramck/Detroit border, offering ongoing free public art classes for all.

Saturday June 8th, 1PM-4PM: featuring installation artist and sculptor, Sean Hages, @seanhageslovesyoullc.

Sean will lead participants in a wind chime making workshop with found and natural materials. Additionally, The Camp Carpenter build zone and other areas of exploration and inspiration will be open for free play.

Camp Carpenter is an outdoor adventure day camp for Neighborhood youth ages 7-14 set in and around Popps Packing’s dynamic buildings, art installations, and green spaces. Camp Carpenter takes place over 2 weeks each summer.

Camp is FREE for Hamtramck and 48212 Detroit residents. Limited scholarships available for those outside the Zone. Registration is required for participation.

    Come make things out of clay with us! We will be making pottery and sculptures to fire in a wood kiln! We will cover some hand building techniques and you can make whatever your heart desires! This workshop is free and open to the public for all ages, all skill levels, and will be an outdoor event (with a tent if it rains!)

    An intensive 4-day workshop taught by Mothlight Microcinema and Shanna Maurizi

    Learn the basic functions of how to operate a 16mm Bolex camera; shoot black and white film with the Bolex, and process the film, and make handmade titles to splice onto the reel.

    We will also transfer the footage to a digital file and share it at a later public screening.
